Herci and Luke - Best Friends

Herci cuddled up to Luke on the couch, we are surprised how quick he's adjusting to a new member of the family.

It's great to be home

We are now settling into life with Luke at home. We checked out of the hospital around 4pm.

Suzanne and Luke are doing great.

We're out of here!!

The nurse just gave us word that we are free to head home.

The staff at the hospital was great, but we're happy to go home.

Health Update

Luke's Bilirubin test came back good after the 5am blood test. The nurse removed the Biliblanket light and at 2pm they will do another test to make sure his levels are low enough. They feel pretty positive about us leaving this afternoon.

It so much easier caring for Luke with the Biliblanket off. Here's a picture after eating this morning.

Big Family Visit

The family came by after church. We had fun sharing the excitement of Luke's birth.

Still here

Luke continues to have high levels of Bilirubin, the pediatrician is keeping us another night so that we can keep the BiliBlanket on him.

We are also working on getting Luke to start nursing better. This morning we had a visit with lactation specialist who is helping us with some new techniques to help him latch better. I have a new appreciation breast feeding, no small task!

Here's a picture after Luke had breakfast at 2:30 this morning.

Visitors today

Susan Capps and Rosi Smith came to see little Luke this evening.

- The pediatrician was upbeat with the Jaundice testing results. She is hoping to send us home Sunday afternoon.

Visitors today

Kristi Huckabee came by this afternoon to visit Luke. We are grateful for everyone's support!

Luke is doing a better job nursing today, so we're happy about that.

He glows!

Looks like we are staying at Baylor another day, hopefully leave Sunday. Luke has some Jaundice, so they have some biliblanket lights on him to help reduce it.

We think Luke is a night owl, he was up most of the night asking for food. We're going to try and catch some zzz's today.

He is still having some trouble nursing, so we are work on that. Lots to learn for little Luke and parents!

pushing now

Suzanne is doing a great job. She is in 2nd stage.

Still going!

We are getting very excited!

Suzanne is faking a smile here.

She's a tough lady!

Suzanne is in labor

We are getting lots of walking in. We are taking a break to relax in
this picture. The midwife thinks we'll have a baby around 9p, we'll
see...

The baby's heartrate is around 155, based on the old wives tale, it's
a girl.
